KT Goode started her dancing career at the age of six when she enrolled in her local dance school for ballet, tap and jazz. She continued until the age of 12 when she decided to pursue more competitive avenues through drill team and cheerleading. While continuing competitive cheer, KT began Irish dancing at the late age of 16, but quickly gained success as a competitive dancer under the direction of Judy McCafferty and the McCafferty School of Irish Dance. During her time as a competitor, she competed at the Regional Championships, the National Championships, as well as the prestigious World Championships, Oireachtas Rince Na Cruinne. In fact, KT was the first person from the state of Arkansas to ever qualify for the World Championships. During her summers from 2001-2005, KT worked at the Irish Dance Camp, Camp Rince Ceol and served as Head counselor for three of those years.
